Vision 312 Launch Event

Southwark Cathedral was the perfect setting for the launch of Vision 312, Archbishop Tenison’s fundraising campaign.

In May approximately 250 invited guests, former and current members of staff, School Governors, pupils and students and members of the school’s wider community gathered at Southwark Cathedral for a very special service to mark the school’s 312th year history and to share its educational vision for pupils and students now and in the future.

Over the past 5 years, there has been a significant increase in pupil numbers.  Since September 2025 Archbishop Tenison’s School has over 800 pupils for the first time in its history.  Vision 312 is a bold initiative to improve the facilities and learning resources to match the increase in numbers and offer more than just the curriculum.

The service was led by the Bishop of Croydon, The Right Reverend Dr Rosemarie Mallett and Reverend Les Isaac, OBE and founder of Street Pastors who offered encouragement and a challenge to create a legacy beyond ourselves.  The school’s Year 7 choir and the Gospel Choir sang with melodic purpose and conviction.

The congregation heard from former pupils and students who reflected on their individual experiences during their time at the school and the inspiration, guidance and support the school had provided them with along their personal journeys.  Gary Carr, renowned actor and former pupil reflected on his time at Tenison’s and spoke of how the school had helped him nurture his interest in Drama through the curriculum.

An exhibition lined the Cathedral’s north and south transepts, providing a visual display of each subject’s curriculum vision and aspirations for the current and future generations educational journey through the school.
